Conflict diamonds are diamonds that originate from areas controlled by forces or factions opposed to legitimate and internationally recognized governments. In 2002, a coalition of governments, non-governmental organizations, and the diamond industry established the Kimberley Process to control the export and import of rough diamonds to eliminate the trade in conflict diamonds. The Kimberley Process is designed to prevent proceeds from the sale of conflict diamonds from financing civil wars, rebel uprisings, and other forms of unrest which have led to the suffering of many innocent people.
Today at least 99% of diamonds in the marketplace are conflict free.
Every natural-origin Lucent Diamond is sourced from Kimberley Process compliant mining organizations and importers primarily from mining areas such as Australia, Canada and Russia . Every Lucent Diamond has been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions. Lucent Diamonds guarantees that each of our natural-origin diamonds is conflict free based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by our suppliers.
Lucent Diamonds' lab grown diamonds are by the very nature of their origin completely conflict free. Furthermore they are environmentally, ecologically and animal friendly, humane, ethically and socially responsible diamonds.
